April 6 Outreach

Today was windy - but we served. People were hurting - but we loved. We were tired - but we were obedient. Today's word was:

Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy, and we hated each other.

But— When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.“

Titus 3:3-5

However, we focused on the word "but" from these scriptures. In every story or any sentence, once the word "but" is used, the narrative of the story changes to either good or bad. Whatever is said before the word but doesn't matter, only what happens after the word is said is what matters.  So today, as we listened to our our friends, we added the "but" and then inserted "Jesus".

Today we know we mattered, the people we met today were hurting deeply but they left better.  There was deep thoughts and issues that our trained volunteers were able to help with. One life was saved.
